A third-generation ironworker, Jackson Nix has been around the industry his entire life. It all began with miscellaneous warehouse tasks. But as soon as he had a driver’s license, he was officially working with Shelby Erectors, delivering pre-cast cages and safety equipment to the crews.
Jackson took a small break to pursue a college degree in Building Construction, but the pull toward ironwork was strong. He found himself right back doing what he loved in no time.
Now our Chief Estimator, Jackson says he was lucky enough to work in both scopes of the work we do here at Shelby Erectors. He will tell you any day that he was trained by the best in the industry. He worked for his dream of being a Foreman in both SIP and Rebar, and this helped him develop the knack for estimating today.
It’s probably cliché to hear it from me, but it’s one big family around here. I grew up hearing the names of people I now work with every day. And they’re awesome. I’m proud to build bridges – especially with this crew!
Off the clock, he’s certainly up for anything active and adventurous. In fact, you can find Jackson wake surfing or riding through the woods in his mud truck. Or, you know, wherever the party is.
