Jason Zyla may be new to the bridge building business, but he’s been in the construction industry since 1990. He owned his own business for almost 20 years, and knows what it means to take care of the team.
During Jason’s days in the residential and commercial industry, he was recognized for his building by the Miami Herald and other local associations. In addition to his talent in the construction industry, Jason is a certified home inspector and a certified instructor by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). He also serves on the Safety Advisory Board of the NCCER, representing the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA).
According to Jason, people are the core of Shelby Erectors. The company is full of many different personalities, beliefs, personal situations, and circumstances. Jason truly enjoys people and looks forward to interacting with them every day. As the Operations/Safety Manager, he feels a sense of responsibility to protect the company while also helping the individuals on his team.
Working at Shelby Erectors is a fast paced, work together to get things done type of company. Things are constantly changing, just like the world we live in. It’s awesome.
When Jason isn’t at work, he’s enjoying time with his family. He and his high school sweetheart have been married for 29 years. They enjoy spending time on their patio overlooking the lake every night. The couple has three children, a daughter and two sons, and two grandchildren. They all enjoy traveling in their motor coach to Disney and other scenic destinations. According to him, family is always number one and the rewards of working are intended for them.
