You might wonder what it would feel like to be the woman behind an industry-leading construction company. According to Jennifer Nix, being the President of the leading bridge subcontractor company in Florida is beyond words, unbelievable!
“The men and women that work for us are second to none and that’s a reflection of the leadership team. I can’t help but be proud of our work and our trade.”
Jennifer dove into the bridge construction market fulltime in 2010. That same year, the company earned the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) certified Disadvantaged Business Entity (DBE) award, giving them statewide exposure for contracting opportunities as well as access to training and technical support opportunities.
So, what gets her motivated to come to the office every morning? She sees the value Shelby Erectors brings to the communities they live and work in, from safe infrastructure to the support they provide their team’s families.
It’s no surprise that family is important to Jennifer, since the company focuses on making a lasting impact in the lives of their team and the communities they serve. Jennifer and her husband, Jack, have two wonderful children: Shelby, a Veterinarian, and Jackson, an Estimator for the company. They were recently blessed with their first grandson, Wyatt. Family runs throughout the company. Jennifer’s husband is the Vice President of Operations and Cory, their son-in-law, is a Supervisor. A true family affair!
In her free time, Jen can be found enjoying the sunshine in Key Largo with her family and friends – boating, fishing, and diving.
