Shelby Erectors, a premier bridge construction company in Florida, recently announced a strategic partnership with Advanced Construction Robotics (ACR), a premier developer of cutting-edge construction robotics technology, to incorporate their revolutionary rebar lifting robot into Shelby Erectors’ operations. This partnership represents a major step forward in the construction industry’s evolution towards automation and improved safety on job sites.
The rebar lifting robot, IronBOT, can work simultaneously with ACR’s first robot, TyBOT. IronBOT can lift up to 5,000 lb. bundles of rebar, without needing any heavy lifting from the crew members, while TyBOT can self-tie rebar intersections at 1,100 ties per hour.
” We were excited to be able to have IronBOT and TyBOT work together alongside our crews on this project. We were impressed that we could slash our rebar installation schedule in half,” said Jack Nix, COO of Shelby Erectors. Shelby Erectors is always looking for projects where they can use the BOT Bundle in their operations.
IronBOT and TyBOT recently completed their first bridge project in Port St. Lucie, Florida half of the projected time frame. They originally planned for this project’s installation to take 14 days, but the pilot project was completed in just 7 days.
Shelby Erectors and ACR are committed to a seamless integration of the rebar lifting robot technology into Shelby Erectors’ existing processes and are confident that this partnership will lead to significant improvements in safety and productivity and safety across the construction industry.
