Shelby Erectors, a leader in the bridge construction industry, is thrilled to announce the launch of IronBOT, a state-of-the-art rebar-placing robot that will revolutionize the way rebar is installed on bridges and other construction sites.
Developed by ACR, IronBOT is a cutting-edge piece of technology that is designed to take the “back-breaking work” out of rebar installation. With its advanced sensors and programming, IronBOT can place rebar quickly and accurately, significantly reducing the time and labor needed for this critical task. IronBOT is also incredibly versatile, with the ability to work on a wide range of construction projects.
Shelby Erectors has been using TyBOT for about two years, and they just piloted the combination of TyBOT and IronBOT on a bridge project in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This robot duo is a game changer for the rebar industry. IronBOT placed 147,032 lbs. of rebar in under 7 shifts, while TyBOT completed 58,068 ties.
“We are actively looking for new projects to incorporate the Bot Bundle in our operations.” Said, Jack Nix, COO of Shelby Erectors.
IronBOT can work on bridge decks ranging from 10-117 feet wide while placing bars 9-60 feet long. The robot automates the rebar placement based on the job’s plans. It has the ability to work quickly which will significantly improve the efficiency and safety of construction sites worldwide.
Shelby Erectors is proud to be at the forefront of this cutting-edge technology and looks forward to introducing IronBOT on more projects in the coming months.
