Project Details | The Central Florida Expressway Authority is widening State Road 429 (Daniel Webster Western Beltway) from Tilden Road to south of Florida’s Turnpike to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. This 3.6-mile project will add a travel lane in each direction, expanding the expressway from four to six lanes (three travel lanes in each direction). Several sound walls are planned for this segment; please see the map for the location of each proposed sound wall. Wider median shoulders, known as part-time shoulders, are also being added, which can temporarily accommodate traffic during emergency response events, such as traffic accidents or hurricane evacuations. The entire project area will be resurfaced as part of this project. This is one of three widening projects on SR 429 between Tilden Road and SR 414 (John Land Apopka Expressway). |
